I'm Daniel, founder of DESIGN MATCH BALL. Football has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. The game brings together people who would otherwise never meet – on the pitch it doesn't matter who you are, only that you're playing.
Shirts, scarves, flags – all of them have long come in your own design. Only the ball was always off the shelf. I wanted to change that: every club, every company, every person should be able to have a ball of their own.

Who am I buying from?
From DESIGN MATCH BALL – a sole proprietorship registered in Germany, based in Waldbröl, North Rhine-Westphalia (VAT ID DE463445633). We work with companies all over Germany: a German invoice, one dedicated contact person and a contract under German law. Legal notice
How long does it take?
Around 15 days of production plus about 15 days of delivery, plus the time for the mock-up and the sample ball approval. We confirm the exact schedule in your quote.
Can I deduct the balls as a business gift?
Yes – under German tax law, as long as the value per recipient and year does not exceed €50 excl. VAT (§ 4 (5) sentence 1 no. 1 EStG). Our balls cost €24–29 excl. VAT.
Can I check the quality first?
Yes. You can order our own ball for €25 incl. VAT, with free delivery: see the sample ball. Before production you also get photos and video of your sample ball to approve.
How does payment work?
50 % deposit to start, the remaining 50 % once the run is finished – then we ship. You receive an invoice with VAT shown separately.
Does my client have to pay tax on the gift?
That depends on the recipient (German tax law). Private customers don’t pay tax on a gift. For business clients and partners – companies, the self-employed and their employees – a gift generally counts as a taxable benefit. So that the recipient pays nothing, you can cover the tax yourself at a flat 30 % (§ 37b EStG, plus solidarity surcharge and church tax where applicable). Even then, a €29 ball (excl. VAT) stays under the €50 limit.
Can we give the balls to our employees?
Yes. For your company the balls are fully deductible as a business expense – the €50 limit doesn’t apply here. For your employees the ball is usually tax-free: under the €50-per-month allowance for benefits in kind, or as a gift at the Christmas party.
What should I know about sponsoring a club?
If you pay for a club’s balls and get advertising in return – e.g. your logo on the ball or a mention on the club’s website or social media – it is deductible as a business expense under the German Federal Ministry of Finance’s sponsorship decree. Best to record what you get in return in a short agreement.
